This campsite is one of our favorite spots on the whole property. It's on a small rise at the bottom of Huckleberry Hill. Four or five eighty year old cedars shade the perfect spot for a picnic table, a fire circle and spring water faucet. It overlooks the five-acre beaver pond with a the top of Jordan peak jutting up in the background. We've built a 10x10 shelter for the table or your tent. This is a small one-room cabin that replicates the skiing and hunting cabins similar to the ones our Norwegian cousins have in their country. It features a generous bunk bed, propane heater, a one burner stove, food prep counter and a small table and chairs. Outside is a deck overlooking Jordan creek with a round table and four chairs. Behind are the vertical rock cliffs of Deer Mountain. Also provided are a new outhouse, fire circle, 12Volt solar power, LED lighting. An adjacent propane hot shower and spring water faucet complete the area with nothing else you could want. This is one of our first campsites. A large site that even the local scout troop wants to come visit every year! A campsite for small RVs, Campers and small Trailers 22' max. It has room for easy turnarounds, multiple tents, all in mowed grass and situated on a wooded peninsula between Jordan creek and two beaver ponds, popcorn pond and the big pond. A word about privacy: We offer four campsites on our 70 acres. We want people to really feel the quiet, privacy and the magic of the Valhalla property and be pretty much alone. You are welcome to explore the trails, visit the ponds, and follow the creek upstream. Especially check the jills secret lake trail, the huckleberry hill trail and the replica of a 1200s Norwegian Stave Church, a chapel at the top of huckleberry hill.
